Tajikistan to boost border security
Tajikistan will tighten border security in the run-up to the Afghan presidential election next month, Interior Minister Abdurakhim Qahorov said on Wednesday, July 22.
“The situation at the Afghan border may deteriorate ahead of the elections,” Qahorov said.
Speaking to reporters in Dushanbe, he said Tajik police and border guards would be reinforced in the area.
“We will not allow any infiltration or breaching of our state border,” Qahorov said.
