SINDH/BALOCHISTAN/KP/PUNJAB
1. Ahmad khan Jamali writing under the heading ‘why criminals are ruling Sindh?’ says whatever is happening in Karachi of late has not only led to lot many questions but also has exposed many. The exchange of blames and allegations by the Sindh Governor and former Karachi Mayor has made the countrymen to hang their heads in shame. These are the people who had left India and came to Pakistan. These were the very persons who often were arrogant and called themselves more civilised; they have now exposed themselves by using filthy language against each other. Their claims of being more civilised also stands exposed. The MQM has done all that it should not have done during three decades. From Liaqat Ali khan to Zia and Musharraf they all came to Pakistan, enjoyed all privileges and perks and yet they did not give it a thought as to why they should not hurt sentiments of people here. None of them have any remorse or conscience over what all they have done but no one can hide his true colours for long. MQM leaders who keep swearing allegiance to Pakistan keep working for the US, UK, Canada, South Africa and they are working to get support from other countries too. The MQM leaders are making profits in Pakistan and investing abroad in properties and also getting their children educated there. On one hand they claim to own Karachi and almost all urban parts of Sindh and also pride in calling themselves as Pakistanis but are still aspiring for more. By speaking against each other, they have dug up their own grave. The federal government, elected representatives and the judiciary must act fast and tough against the MQM leaders in light of what they have spoken against each other and revealed in those statements. (Awami Awaz)
2. Ilias Shakar’s article, ‘Ishratul-Kamal allegations against each other and the PPP’ says Bilawal is trying to regain PPP’s turf in Karachi by exploiting the growing mess in the MQM. So far the PPP has not succeeded. There are indications that the PPP is trying to get some senior MQM leaders to defect to its ranks. This plan also has not succeeded as yet. (Awami Awaz)
POLITICAL SCENE

2. Senior PPP leader, Babbar says it remains to be seen how many people Imran Khan mobilises for his Nov 2 protests. Imran will have to review his dharna plans. It is intriguing that Imran is talking about third force. The civil-military relations are under strain. (Awami Awaz)
3. PTI leader Jehangir Tareen said that each and every page of Panama Leaks papers tells about Nawaz’s corruption, and the misdeeds of his family members. There is no need for any court verdict to establish Nawaz Sharif’s culpability. On Ahsan Iqbal’s homily that the Opp should wait for the court verdict, Tareen remarked that PML (N) leaders who had attacked the Supreme Court, now have the cheek to tell PTI to await court verdict. NAB, FIA, FBR and all other government institutions are crippled and none is functioning. (Ibrat)
4. Gul Moro writing under the heading, ‘Alarm Bells over Islamabad bandh’ says political future of Imran Khan and even Nawaz Sharif is now pinned on November 2 protests. There are indications that some secret talks are in progress between the government and Imran’s party so that the protests will be deferred. (Ibrat)
5. Thick clouds of political uncertainties are hovering over the nation. There is no reason for the PTI to protest in Islamabad on November 2nd because the Prime Minister has already said that PTI’s demand for his resignation is not reasonable, and has offered to face parliamentary scrutiny. More over the Supreme Court has started hearing the panama leaks case. So, why PTI cannot wait for some time and defer its protests? (Sind Express Edit)
6. Information minister, Pervez Rashid is upset that he is being held guilty of Dawn’s leak story. “Chief Ministers of Sindh and KPK were also present at the high level national security meeting that became the subject of Dawn’s leak. Yet, fingers are raised against only me. Why, he asked. (Awami Awaz)
7. Atomic scientist Dr. A Q Khan says PTI Chief Imran Khan has filled the space vacated by MQM Chief Altaf Hussein. Imran is under the illusion that his protests and pressure would force PM Sharif to resign and his government will be dissolved. If Imran has some knowledge of the history he would know that when a dictator comes to power he only protects his own interest and brings people of his likes to important positions to serve his purpose. Scolding your opponents would not get you votes. Imran Khan should know this truism. (Nawa-i-Waqt)
