IRAN
1. Al Qalam Weekly edit on ties with Iran says: “Pakistan has considered Iran all these years as an Islamic country and saw India as enemy of Pakistan Looking towards Iran with great expectations is natural and Pakistan had always thought Iran will fulfil the demands of a relationship between two Muslim neighbouring countries. But now it seems that the situation is taking a shift in which Pakistan will have to think whether to keep Iran in the list of Islamic brotherly countries or not. Iran is shifting towards the opponents’ camp, and India has cunningly moved forward to turn the situation in its favour; at a time when Pakistan is aspiring for a better place in the world economy, an alliance between Iran and India has appeared which will push the region towards imbalance. How will Pakistan be affected with this new alliance between India, Afghanistan, and Iran will be seen in the future but the saddest thing is that Pakistani leaders are in a deep slumber. This criminal negligence will cost Pakistan for centuries. (Al Qalam Weekly Edit, 27 May-2 June)
