IRAN
1. Gangster Uzir Baloch revealed that at the behest of Iran safe haven were made available for Baloch rebels in Lyari and in exchange gangsters received nationality of Iran along with other amenities. Uzir claims that Iranian secret agency was in support of Lyari gangsters and they had been financially supported by Iranian agency. In addition Uzir claims that Iranian agency had given them task to collect photos and information of sensitive installations of Pak Army. (Ummat)
UNITED STATES
1.Ibrat edit on US holding back aid to Pakistan on the recommendations of the Senate Committee for the purchase of F-16s says Pakistan now has to pay USD 70 crore. Obama was in favour of giving the planes to Pakistan but the Congress decided not to release these funds. US must remember that Pakistan is its important ally in the region and that without Pakistan it would not be able to achieve peace. The Obama government must fulfil its responsibilities and help Pakistan. (Ibrat Edit)
2.Khabrain criticises US’ objection to selling F-16s to Pakistan on the ground that Pakistan would use them against India. Pakistani politicians had not done enough to influence the US Congress and the Congressmen are all in favour of India. (Khabrain Edit)

AFGHANISTAN
1.Talking to media, Afghan Army chief, Gen. Qaddam Shah Shaeem has threatened that use of military will be the last option if aggression from across the border will not halt. (Roznama Dunya)
2. Provincial Council Chief of Arzagan in Afghanistan confessed that writ of government is effective only in the provincial capital. In the remaining parts of province Taliban have got control. Taliban have claimed that they have destroyed many government offices in different part of the country under ‘operation Omeri’ and have killed many troops working under tribal security system. In Balkh, Northern Alliance and Jamiat-e-Islam had fierce fighting due to which 9 Uzbeks (Affiliated with Afghan tribal security system) have been killed. (Ummat)
3. Peace in Afghanistan is not only important for Afghanistan and Pakistan but also for the entire region; however, Afghanistan is avoiding fulfilling its responsibilities while expecting Pakistan to carry out such jobs which are not possible for Pakistan, like bringing all factions of Taliban to talk table. 1.After arrest of RAW agent, Yadav, terrorist attacks in Balochistan and all over Pakistan have reduced to a large extent and in Balochistan many insurgents have surrendered. And 500 more agents and their facilitators have since been arrested. (Urdupoint)
2.Ausaf writes about Pakistani community’s protest marches in New York against Indian intervention in Pakistan and states that the Pakistan government should do likewise by taking it up with Washington at a diplomatic level. 2.At a grand Tribal Jirga held at Safi district, elders have appealed to tribals not to provide shelter or any kind of facilities to the terrorists. (Roznama Dunya)
3. JuD Chief Hafiz Saeed said organizations like Daesh come into existence on the ground of misunderstandings. Madaris are fort of Islam and if Ulema will stop guiding Muslims then anti-Islam forces will distort the face of Islam. He was speaking at Jamia Al Darasat Ul Islamia, Gulshan-e-Iqbal (Karachi). POLITICAL PARTIES
1.PML (N) is flaring up internal difference in PTI to weaken its campaign on Panama leaks. Towards this end PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been offered an important post in PML (N) if he quits PTI and joins PML (N). ‘Ummat’ states that private TV channels claim that Shah Mahmood Qureshi may return to PPP. 2.Mahtab Rashdi writes: PM seems to be in real hot waters and no one was willing to sink along with the PML (N). (Awami Awaz)
3. Sikandar Haliyo writes: Attempts are being made from Islamabad to Rawalpindi to make Sharif’s family a scapegoat. Media is making lives more miserable for politicians to govern the country. Nawaz Sharif is nervous despite doctors stating that his health is ok. The opposition is also putting pressure on him by announcing a meeting on 2 May to decide its next course. His attempts at bringing India and Pakistan close have put him in hot waters. The Panama leaks have taken the spotlight off PPP and have put it on the Sharif family. (Kawish)
4.Soomroo wonders where the political tensions will take the country and states that politicians have given a call for war against each other and not against the militants. The wars had taken a toll on democracy. Imran Khan used to be critical of Zardari but now had turned to praise Zardari. It was difficult to say if PTI and PPP were moving closer to each other. 5.Criticises the government and opposition for their tug of war over the Panama Papers leaks and says it has created an atmosphere of mistrust similar to that before elections. Operation Zarb-e-Azb has reached its final stages and required the cooperation of all the political parties but Panama leaks were tearing them up apart. BALOCHISTAN
1. Talking to media, Chairman of Senate Standing Committee for communication, Dawood Khan Achakzai and other members criticized that Balochistan is being side-lined under CPEC project. (Roznama Dunya)
2. Hamid Mir writes people of Balochistan have many misunderstanding on CPEC projects and says that it is for government to remove their misunderstandings. (Jang)
3. Speakers at a seminar informed that DG Khan has gained important status under CPEC project. Important highway will be constructed from Chotibala to Dera Bugti and then to Gwadar. Rakhi Gaj -Bwata road will be constructed through hills at a cost of Rs.23 billion. Work on a new bridge on Indus River at Ghazi Ghat and a road from Muzefergarh to Dera Doroya will begin from June. GILGIT-BALTISTAN/POK
1. According to a report by Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), during the first quarter of the current year, maximum 239 deaths took place in FATA, whereas only one death was reported due to torture in AJK. 109 militants were killed during this period in security operations. Of them 42 are from banned organisation, and 18 from TTP. (Jang)
