2. Prime Minister’s Foreign Policy Advisor, Sartaj Aziz has spoken of establishing a relationship of equal footing between Pakistan and the US. Well, he makes a point but the fact is that the United States is not satisfied with the action that Pakistan has taken to check terrorism. Despite operations like the Zarb-e-Azb, Washington wants us to do more. The US should understand the problems of Pakistan before making such demands. The Pakistani atomic programme is safe and secure; this has been stated by a US organization. How safe are India N-assets? Media reports say there was a theft of Indian atomic assets. So, what the US should do? It must stop demanding a roll back of Pakistan’s N-programme. Also, instead of pressurizing Pakistan to do more on terrorism front, the US should hyphenate its relations with India and Pakistan. (Khabrain Edit)

3. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry has failed to effectively globalise the issue of the unprovoked Indian firing on the Line of Control and the detention of the Indian agent Kulbhushan Yadav in Pakistan. Pakistan should take these issues to the International Court of Arbitration, and the International Criminal Court. Islamabad should take the world community into confidence and expose India. There is no gainsaying that the Indian threat should be taken seriously more so since India has got a favourable coverage in the international media. India has a powerful lobby to speak for it. (Khabrain Edit)

1. While the Army Chief General Raheel Sharif’s resolve to take the Karachi operation to its logical end and clear the city of terrorists and criminals is laudable, there is an undeniable need to tone up the working of the Karachi police before the Rangers are pulled out since infiltration of RAW elements into the city as also Balochistan is a reality.
