UNITED STATES
1.The entire Muslim community shares the grief of United States where a night club was attacked by terrorist. India is to be blamed for the deterioration of the US-Pakistan relations and the US for reposing unnecessary confidence on India. (Khabrain Edit)
2.The terrorist attack on a US night club is a warning that vulgar culture should end. Western and Indian movies and TV dramas are to blame for promoting vulgar culture. (Ausaf Edit)
3.The US has never been a faithful friend of Pakistan; it has only used Pakistan for its vested interests. The US has been inclined towards India since the formation of Pakistan and it is not happy with the Sino-Pak friendship. India has gone into spasms after China and Pakistan signed the CPEC and therefore it is luring America to stop supporting Pakistan by any means. Expecting the US’ support now would be another mistake and Pakistan will have to find new ways to save its identity and sovereignty. (Daily K2 Edit)
4.Noted analyst, Najam Sethi said USA and Pakistan have never been friends but they have used each other. Pakistan always sold itself to America, he added in a Geo program. (Jang)

Speaking at a Dunya program, he remarked that the Afghan Taliban could not be suppressed before nor is it possible now. Problems for Ashraf Ghani’s puppet government will increase. He supported barricading of the Pak-Afghan border to check free movement of terrorists. (Roznama Dunya)
6.Columnist Arif Bahar writes in Jasarat: right now the US’ romance with India is at its height and the US had lobbied for India to be included in the Nuclear Suppliers Group. Only China has supported Pakistan saying that Pakistan is equally qualified to become a member of NSG and if Pakistan is not made a member, then India should also not be included. (Jasarat)
7.Columnist Dr. Abdul Majeed Chandiyo writes on what Pakistan has gained and lost in its ‘craze’ for the US. Indian PM Modi’s frequent visits to the US are in a way an attempt to influence Pakistan’s security affairs. His larger agenda include getting India a membership to NSG, getting Pakistan declared a terrorist state, getting at par with China in the defence sector and a political role in Central Asia and the Middle East. India is now consolidating itself in the region in three major areas, Defence, Trade and Politics. (Kawish)
AFGHANISTAN
1.Chief of Hizb-e-Islami Gulbuddin Hekmatyar is the worst enemy of India. In 1988-87 Hekmatyar met three leaders of the Khalistan Movement from London. They wanted monetary help from Hekmatyar to run a radio station with a van. He agreed to their request and told the delegation that whatever amount the Khalistan Movement had collected for this purpose should be used for other activities. When his companions asked Hekmatyar why he had agreed to such a huge amount (around 80 to 90 lakh), he replied that India was the enemy of Pakistan and the enemy of Pakistan was their enemy too. He also said that the toy bombs that the USSR was dropping on Afghan villages were made in India. (Ummat)
2.The Afghan government’s objections to the barricading of the border at Torkham is unjustified since the purpose of the barricade is only to stop terrorists and smugglers from crossing freely into Pakistan. The Afghan government is not so naïve as not to know that RAW and NDS agents also use this point to enter Pakistan. Whosoever is Afghanistan’s friend, is Pakistan’s friend and Afghanistan’s enemy is Pakistan’s enemy; but for Afghanistan, Pakistan’s enemies are Afghanistan’s friends. (Roznama Dunya Edit)

1. As a part of the National Action Plan to improve the security of the Economic Highway project, 22 new wings of civilian Armed Forces will be established, said Deputy Home Minister Muhammad Balighur Rehman while replying to a Calling Attention Motion in the Senate by Lt. The process of recruitment will be completed by this year-end. (Daily Intekhab)

He added that the US was putting check posts in the Arabian Sea with the help of India. Jamiat-ul-Ittehad Ulema Pakistan leader Salim Akhtar Mansoori said that the day India attacks Pakistan, India would also become unsafe. (Jasarat, Roznama Dunya, Daily Pak, Nawa-i-Waqt)
2.Difa-e-Pakistan Conference held amidst tight security has attracted thousands of people, who were let in after a thorough check.. POLITICAL SCENE
1. Former Foreign Minister Sardar Asif Ahmad Ali said that Parliament membership is obligatory to hold the post of a minister but both Sartaj Aziz and Tariq Fatemi, who hold ministerial posts as advisors are not MPs. With leaders engaged half the time in a tug of war, so how can foreign policy move forward, he asked in a Channel-5 programme. Ali added: Pakistan will have to face critical challenges in the days ahead as conspiracies are hatched to isolate Pakistan from the international community. But sadly the government right now is being run from London while Modi is undertaking foreign tours to isolate Pakistan. (Khabrain)

The government is not serious about addressing the issue and instead it just wants to gain time. PTI is serious about its movement against corruption but PPP is still unsure. In the coming days PPP’s stand will play an important role. National defence should be in the hands of the public and the Army. If the state powers remain with a single personality then it is dangerous but if it is in the joint control of public representatives and the Army then it is excellent. (Roznama Dunya)
SINDH
1. The Sindh government has admitted that there is a polio threat in the province. Though polio has been eradicated from civilized countries, the threat continues in Pakistan despite spending huge amounts of money on anti-polio drives. One major obstacle in the way of polio eradication is the mindset about polio which has resulted at times in attacks on anti-polio teams. (Kawish Edit)
