B’desh: New political alliance formed
A new political alliance comprising of seven political parties was formed in the capital yesterday. The alliance named “Ganatantra Mancho”, has been formed to bring about a change in the current political situation of the country, JSD president ASM Abdur Rob announced at a press conference in Dhaka.
Components in the political alliance are Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), Nagorik Oikya, Biplobi Workers Party, Ganosamhati Andolon, Gono Adhikar Parishad, Bhasani Anusari Parishad, and Rashtra Songskar Andolan.
Rob said the alliance has specific reform proposals and demands regarding the state, constitution, constitutional institutions, and governance. Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Biplobi Workers Party General Secretary Saiful Haque, Ganosamhati Andolon Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki, Gono Odhikar Parishad Convener Reza Kibria; Bhasani Onusari Parishad Convener Rafiqul Islam; and Rastro Sangskar Andolon Coordinator Hasnat Kaiyum, among others, were present at the programme.
