B’desh: JP to go to polls alone

Jatiya Party Chairman yesterday said his party is taking preparation to contest the next polls, independently.
“JP has decided to nominate candidates for 300 seats in the upcoming national election. Nominations will be given to corruption free leaders,” he said while addressing the bi-annual conference of the Lalmonirhat District Jatiya Party at the Lalmonirhat Railway Officers Club.
Criticising the Digital Security Act, GM Quader said, “People have been deprived of their right to free thought because of this.”
“The present government is heading towards one-party rule in the country and killing democracy,” he added.
“Whoever has come to power since 1990 has conspired to destroy the Jatiya Party.” This administration is also attempting to weaken us. But no one could ever erase the JP… the Langol symbol, from people’s hearts,” he noted.
Jatiya Party’s Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu Additional Secretary General Advocate Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan, Co-Chairman Syed Abu Hossain Babla MP, and other senior leaders also spoke at the event.
