2 members of Ansar Al-Islam arrested in Kurigram
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) yesterday said they arrested two members of banned militant group Ansar al Islam in Kurigram.
The arrestees are Md Abdul Quader Salman (25) of Sabujpara area in Kurigram town and Md Minhazul Islam (21) of Narkelbari area of the district’s Ulipur upazila, reports our Lalmonirhat correspondent.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab-13 conducted an operation in Sabujpara area of Kurigram town and Ulipur upazila of the district on Tuesday night and arrested the duo from their homes, said Mahmud Bashir Ahmed, media officer of the battalion at a press briefing yesterday.
Extremist literature, mobile phones, SIMs and memory cards were recovered from them during the drive, he said.
