2 arrested for planning terror strikes in Mumbai
Mumbai police have arrested two men Abdul Lateef, 29, and Riyaz Ali, 23,.suspected of planning to attack three targets in the city, including the offices of India’s oil major, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
Police said they believed that the men were receiving directions from Pakistan,. Both arrested persons have been in telephone contact with a man they called “Uncle” in Karachi.
“We believe they were taking instructions from across the border to attack three or four targets in Mumbai,” Vinesh Agarwal, an inspector with Mumbai’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), said.“
Police said that it was too early to name the militant group they believe was behind the plot.
